KARACHI: An accountability court on Wednesday deferred indictment of a former inspector general of Sindh police and other police officers, among 15 nominated suspects in a corruption case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a fresh reference, nominating the ex-IG Ghulam Haider Jamali, former assistant IG (finance) Syed Fida Hussain Shah, AIG (logistics) Tanveer Ahmed Tahir, former AIG (logistics) Faisal Bashir Memon and others for alleged corruption in Sindh police funds.

On Wednesday, the matter was fixed before accountability court-II Judge Aalia Latif Unnar for framing charges against the suspects.

Around 11 suspects, including ex-IG Jamali and ex-AIG Memon, appeared before court on bail. However, ex-AIG Kamran Rashid, who was also on bail, was absent.

Therefore, the court deferred their indictment till Oct 26 and directed all the suspects to appear on the next date.
